Smart Bus Project: Changes Underfoot

We’re upgrading our in-bus technology!

While this is extremely exciting news and will result in better data for riders, in the short term, it may cause some ETA glitches on our mobile app and online bus tracker (which we’ll also be updating soon).

Over the next few months, we’ll be completely replacing the existing GPS tracking system on our buses with newer, smarter technology to provide you with even more information about your bus!

This new technology will allow us to provide additional real-time data directly to your smart device, allowing us to communicate more complex information like how many bikes are already on the bike rack of a bus.

It will also allow us to get you updates in real-time about any delays or impacts to service.

We’ll be sharing more information about our Smart Bus Project in January, so be sure to stay tuned! In the meantime, here’s a glimpse into what this new technology looks like!

Closed Thanksgiving Day

Mountain Line will not be operating Thursday, November 26, in observance of Thanksgiving Day. We are operating Friday, November 27.

Happy Thanksgiving, riders! We’re grateful for you.

Mountain Line Closed for Veterans Day

Mountain Line will NOT be operating, Wednesday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day.

Return to Normal Service Oct 6

We’re returning to 100 percent full, normal service Tues, Oct 6 – including reinstating Shuttle Van!

We know this return to normal is a day later than we planned, and we know there may still be days ahead where no matter how much we’ve planned, 2020 will meet us with a new challenge. But for now, we’re choosing to celebrate this moment. We look forward to welcoming you on board, masked up and ready to move forward, together.

Daylight Savings Ends Sunday, November 1

Remember to turn back your clocks this Sunday, November 1.

Mountain Line to Return to Daily Service Updates

For the foreseeable future, Mountain Line will return to posting daily service updates indicating the level of service for the following day. This is in response to a growing number of COVID-19 close-contact quarantines, resulting in a staffing shortage. We will only reduce service if we absolutely must and are committed to your safety with every ride. Learn more about our safety commitments here.

The service level for each day will be posted on Mountain Line’s social media channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and on our COVID-19 page.

Service levels are defined as follows:

  • Normal Service – all routes are running as scheduled.
  • Tier 1 – Route 8 is adjusted. Shuttle Van is suspended.
  • Tier 2 – Route 8 and Shuttle Van are suspended. Route 12 is adjusted.
  • Tier 3 – Routes 8, 9 and Shuttle Van are suspended. Route 12 is adjusted.

Paratransit is not impacted by these service updates.

Thank you for your patience while we continue to adapt to an ever-changing situation. Please do your part to keep our community safe by wearing a mask, maintaining physical distance when possible and washing your hands frequently. Please do not ride if you are sick.

Route 8 Suspended Saturday, October 24
